THE MILLBOURNE ESTATE
📣 Calling all York Young Professionals! 🌟 Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Millbourne Estate, a hidden gem nestled on a 50-acre private estate. 🏰 This exclusive venue was once home to the late Louis J. Appell Jr., a local philanthropist and visionary founder of the Powder Mill Foundation. Prepare to be amazed by the timeless beauty of this historic estate, as we come together to forge new connections. 🤝 With lush gardens, captivating architecture, and a rich history, the Millbourne Estate sets the stage for an extraordinary evening of networking and socializing. In addition to acres upon acres of ornamental gardens, the estate includes water features, a chapel, ruins, and a number of design elements influenced by Mr. Appell’s interest in English gardens. An estate map will be available for members who would like to explore the grounds!
POWDER MILL FOUNDATION
Louis J. Appell was a generous man who cared deeply for the city of York. He believed in revitalizing downtown York by restoring its older historic buildings, helping non-profits and by promoting growth, sustainability and preservation. The Powder Mill Foundation was established in 1993 to ensure Mr. Appell was always part of that growth. Today, the Powder Mill Foundation supports effective collaboration between community partners and non-profits to produce vital and authentic urban experiences that are attractive to residents and businesses. His idea was simple “make York a better place.” Mr. Appell’s legacy is the York Renaissance that we celebrate and see today!
FOOD
Come grab a bite to eat while you network with other members! Granfalloons Tavern and the Powder Mill Foundation will be providing the appetizers for this social. Our classic mix of beer will be provided by Brewery Products and soda and water will be provided by YYP and be available for members and guests.

Traditions Bank is our corporate and event sponsor for this social. Traditions Bank has worked closely with the Powder Mill foundation for years so it only seemed fitting that they were this month’s sponsor.

PARKING
When you enter the estate from Powder Mill Rd. you will drive up the driveway past the house (Please do not park at the house as this is a private residence) on your right you will see a field for parking. There will also be directional signs to lead you there. Once parked, take a left and walk down past the barn and near the pond to the Carriage house where the social is being held.
