Join the York Young Professionals this month for our annual meeting! This annual meeting is sponsored by Better York and is open to the public. The Annual Meeting includes a vote for the 2023 YYP Board as well as a $500 donation given to a charity with the most votes.
Soda and water will be provided by YYP and be available for members and guests. Don’t forget to register! This is a sit-down dinner, and no door registrations will be allowed. All attendees will need to register in advance. Only members in good standing are able to vote.
THE APPELL CENTER
Come explore the historic Appell Center with YYP! We will be dining in the Studio where members can look out the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Philadelphia street. The Appell center for the performing arts features two historic theatres- the Strand Theatre built in 1925 and the Capitol Theatre built in 1906. Each of these theatres offers its own unique history. The Strand Theatre, a 1,262-seat example of Italian Renaissance architecture features 1,800 pounds of gold leaf and murals on the walls. This theatre thrived during the roaring ’20s. The Capital Theatre, originally known as “The Theatorium” and later “The Jackson,” was built as a one-level dance hall. In recent years, an $18.1 million dollar renovation project was completed to help preserve these historic theatres. The Appell center will be providing the drinks for this social. One drink ticket will be provided to each attendee. A tour of the Appell Center will also be provided for members and guests.
SKILLET2PLATE SOUL BISTRO
In February of 2022, Skillet2Plate cut the ribbon to their new home on Philadelphia St. After visiting this location on our WECO tour it only made sense for this great soul food restaurant to cater our annual dinner down the street. In 2021, Skillet2 Plate won the best of the best award for York County. Come have dinner with YYP as we vote on our new board for 2022!
